my philosophy

Learning that grows with the child

Daniela's approach to early childhood education and wellness is rooted in a simple belief: children learn most when they feel safe, curious, and connected to something real. Montessori and mindfulness inspires her work, but the heart of it is simpler still  meet children where they are, and let the natural world do the teaching.

Learning through experience

Children learn best when their hands and senses are involved. A word heard while holding a leaf, a story told beside a basket of apples  these moments make learning stay.

The seasons as a guide

The changing seasons give us a natural rhythm. Autumn leaves, winter snowflakes, spring flowers, summer sunshine; each brings new words, flavors, and stories to explore.

Curiosity over performance

There is no rush to perform. Children are invited to listen, observe, and respond in their own time and their own way, with participation encouraged but never pressured.

Whole-child wellness

Wellness is more than a lesson. It is the quiet of a mindful moment, the joy of moving to music, the comfort of a predictable rhythm, and the confidence that grows from feeling capable.

how it began

A story that started at the table

Daniela's childhood was full of farmers market visits, fresh bread from the bakery, and a culture that made time to gather for lunch. Those early memories shaped a lifelong belief that food, stories, and gathering belong together.

The idea for Tierra & Tales began taking shape in 2020, when everyday food shopping felt suddenly uncertain and prompted deeper questions about where food comes from. What began as questions became little ways to help children ask those same questions with wonder instead of worry.

Today, Daniela brings together bilingual education, culinary instruction, Montessori principles, and mindfulness into experiences that help children discover the world through food, stories, nature, language, and movement.
