About Tierra & Tales

Tierra & Tale is an Educational Enrichment Program serving the community of Fairfield County in CT, connecting young children and their caregivers through nature-based play, seasonal food exploration, and shared storytelling. Our children's enrichment collection, Little Roots Collective, offers hands-on programs that help families discover the world through food, stories, nature, language, and movement — no kitchen or classroom required.

We design experiences for young children, from pre-kindergarten through grade three, alongside the caregivers, educators, and communities who love them. Our programs travel to schools, farms, farmers markets, libraries, and community spaces across Connecticut as one-time pop-ups or recurring series, following the rhythm of the seasons and the curiosity of the child.

Tierra & Tales was founded in 2024 by Daniela Avera, a bilingual educator and former children's culinary instructor. Daniela brings together Montessori principles, mindfulness, and a lifelong love of cultural food traditions to create experiences where every ingredient carries a story — about the people who grew it, the place it came from, and the culture that shaped it.
